It's not even finished..

Or, if it is finished, maybe I couldn't get to the next room. I tried walking through a entrance and the graphic for it appeared on top of my character. Also, as seems to be the case with people who make games using Stencyl, there is absolutely no sound. I have no motivation to play it in silence. After pressing nearly every key on the keyboard, I was able to figure out how to use the sword.

1)Make a Title Screen with directions and controls
2)Add some sound.
3)Double and Triple check your maps and codes before uploading. Then before you upload, check them again.
4)In the Author Comments section, have faith in your game, and at least tell us a little about the plot or overall objective. You DO have a plot, right? RPG's are built on them.

ok but i will have to work on it

Love the atmosphere!

The sound effects and music are great. I enjoyed the idle animations of the rabbit. Having mystery clickable items on the level is a great way to encourage people to explore your game.

Some issues I noticed:
-If you press Left or Right while in midair, it makes the 'Walking through grass' sound.
-If you release all directional keys while crouch-walking under an obstacle, it forces you back out onto the other side....or sometimes, on the same side you started from.
-In one section of the level where you lower a bridge, the hitTest for the bridge is a bit inaccurate, and you float above it.

These things are only code-related; I love the look and feel of your game. I look forward to seeing more from you!

8/10

NightDead responds:

Thanks friend, those are things I have in mind and I could not correct for my lack of experience, but I'm working to show a much higher quality game. Thanks for the comments.

You've got the right idea.

Games that are based on the choices of the user are a big deal. Do some more tests, learn as much code as you can. Each new thing you learn will have you up at night, think about how you can use it in your game.
Work on your animating. If you don't have a graphics tablet yet, it will pay for itself eventually, so just buy it.
Learn about how to use audio at its best possible quality, and work out the infinite kanye loop, that Davoo discussed earlier.
Good luck on your future games!

Coolymanman7 responds:

Thank you so much my friend.

Whoa!

This is really cool stuff! I'm interested to see how you will refine this in the future. It would be cool to ultimately have a more realistic liquid appearance, rather than keep that underlying circle shape. Good job on this!

Kirl responds:

Thanks! :)

Weird..

Is the character supposed to be able to run and jump while balancing on his head? You should look into that. Also, add some music or sfx next time. I didn't feel very motivated to finish the game when I'm forced to do it in silence.

Good luck on your next project!

Hey DavidStanly.
Thanks for your message.
As I have addressed in many messages the head thing was an unficable gravity glitch caused because the chracter was so small. as for the Sound i am still learning the program i use and don't know how to add music/sound yet but i will in a future update or a patch.
Thanks again for your message

Wow...!

I had no idea you were programming now.... this is great for a first attempt. Keep up the good work dude!

MarkySpark responds:

Hey Davey! i just said I would learn and do a game in 2 weeks and that's what I did.
