I wrote a short story many years ago.....I'm preparing to bring it to your screen. Everything has already been planned out; I'm preparing to start animating soon.

Look forward to some nice tunes from my pal, MarkySpark!

After an indefinite hiatus from animating, I'm ready to finish this beast of a project. MarkySpark, my right-hand man, has been very patient and understanding. He can't put his musical magic on my movie until I'm done with it. My FBF animation is getting better all the time, it's good to know that I don't suck anymore.

I'm feeling much better after taking this break, and I pray that people enjoy this movie as much as I do. Just wait a bit longer.....

Back in the saddle

This is slowly coming together. As with any large project, there are setbacks, and even times of non-interest. But I feel like I'm getting back on track. As I get closer to the end of this thing, I will be able to accurately decide a release date. Originally it was for the Summer, but I don't know about that. I have a great partner in crime, MarkySpark. His music will make you want to learn Flash, just so you can make a movie for it. We are both keeping busy, and our spirits are high in regards to this particular movie. Go show him some love, and download his music!

Most of my free time is spent animating right now. My head hurts alot because of this.

I was trying to figure out the best way to incorporate dynamic camera moves into the movie, without frying my brain. And thank you Jesus, I found out about the Scripted Camera. It's going to save me alot of time, time that can now be spent perfecting the look of a scene, or some other task. This camera lets you pan, zoom, etc. through a scene....without you having to independently tween everything. Also, if you apply a color filter to this camera, it applies it to the entire scene! Imagine being able to create a night scene just by increasing the Blue scale on the color filter of your camera! The possibilities are endless, and you can see it in action if you watch Prowlies at the River. To celebrate this great tool, and my increased optimism, I've brought a screenshot from my movie. As you can tell from the picture, I'm trying my best not to skip out on details.

Moving Right Along

Things are going great for Episode One. The script is finished! There may be some minor tweaks along the way, but all of the action is where it should be. I think it has been timed out nicely, and hopefully people will be interested in what happens to our friends next. I have met some awesome people through the release of my Black Star Trailer, who have given me some great advice and inspiration. People who believe in this adventure of mine. That's the best thing to have at a time like this. It is in this stage of production when people decide to continue a project, to delay it, or to scrap it. So having support during this past week has been very helpful. I should actually begin animation in a few days; possibly next week (2-8-09). For the rest of this week I will focus on finishing the storyboard, which is going great so far. I will also be needing the assistance of male and female voice actors. The more voices you can do, the better, since things tend to get a bit crazy when you have lots of people involved. If you happen to read this, and are interested, please PM me and let me know what's up. It will be a great help to me if you have some experience, and a site or Flash movie where I can hear your work. Animation is going to be the toughest part, since at the moment I am working alone. Well, except for NG member Markyspark, who has agreed to do some music for the movie. Check him out- you won't be disappointed.

Thanks to everyone who watched and voted on Black Star: Trailer! I learned alot from your reviews, too. Take care, and tell a friend!

Why is there such a lack of decent animation in the portal lately?
True, I don't spend ALL DAY on Newgrounds, so I'm sure there are some great entries that slip past me, but come on.

If I see one more stick figure....

But you may say, 'Wait, Dave! Your first entry to the Portal was a stick figure animation!'

This is also true, I cannot dispute that. But did you happen to see my second entry to the Portal?

There comes a time when boys must grow up.
There also comes a time when sticks must grow faces, muscles, and other parts of the human anatomy.

Good day.

I finally finished my trailer for the series I'm working on. I got lots of great feedback, and some very helpful criticisms. Later on I was back on the home page and my trailer finished in 10th place for popular portal entries! That was great news, and definitely makes me excited to continue working on this project.
